Brandulin

The farm is located in an area with typical conditions for producing excellent wines, in the heart of the Goriška brda hills. On 5 hectares of vineyards, partly on Italian land, we produce mainly white wines. The terrain is hilly, with a slope of 25-40 %. All the vineyards are planted with grass, without the use of herbicides or artificial fertilisers. This moderates the growth of the vines and makes them resistant to diseases and pests. The vineyard is worked manually (winter pruning, green work in summer and harvesting). In such vineyards, the yield per hectare is lower and the quality of the grapes is guaranteed, as the grapes remain on the vines until maturity and are then harvested by hand.
This is also reflected in our wines, which are full-bodied and rich in minerals. The white wines we produce include white Pinot, Malvasia, white Brandulin (from indigenous white grapes) and, very importantly, indigenous types such as Rebula and Jordano (Sauvignonasse). The only red wine is red brandoulin, which is made from merlot and cabernet sauvignon. It is bottled only after four years in barrel. The wines we offer reflect our involvement in the wine-growing region.
The proximity of the sea, the Julian Alps and the Eocene flysch, rich in minerals but devoid of organic components, give the wines their special characteristics. In addition to Rebula, which is our best variety, various varieties of Bordeaux and Burgundy grapes grow here. For those who like mature wines, we offer mature Rebula, white and red Brandulin, aged in oak barrels and bottled after 3-4 years.
