Cabernet Franc might be described as the feminine side of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is subtly fragrant and flirty, rather than massively muscular and tough.
Ruby red color with purple shades. Clarity and nice density predict an intense and characteristic wine.
Fine but intense aromas of red fruits (blueberries, sour cherry and raspberry) with a hint of forest undergrowth and soil.
The flavor surprises us with pleasant freshness and elegance. It is dry, fairly warm, soft, balanced, intense, harmonious and youthful. A long lasting aftertaste reminds us of herbs, raspberries and blackberries.
Poultry, rabbit, lasagna and other kinds of pasta with meat, even vegetarian pizza, is a nice choice for pairing with Cabernet Franc.
In the beginning, our grandfather Mirko ran the estate. It was diverse, like most estates or, rather, farms of that time. The main livelihoods were cattle farming, fruit growing and viticulture. Like most other farmers, we sold our grapes to the local wine cellar. We only produced a small amount of wine for family consumption. In 1987, the wine market was changing, so our father Stojko decided to devote himself exclusively to viticulture and wine production.
