Bregar

Our farm dates back to the first half of the 20th century, to the years after the First World War, when the world changed overnight for our ancestors. After four centuries of Habsburg rule, the period of Italian rule followed. Brda, once in the south of the country, became the north in a new one.The Bregar farm owns 12 hectares of vineyards, which are up to 40 years old. The soil is a mixture of lapis lazuli and sandstone, known as 'opka', which is characterised by its rich mineral structure. The climate is Mediterranean, with cooler night winds from the nearby Julian Alps. The vineyards are farmed according to the principles of sustainable farming, kind to nature, to ourselves and to the drinkers of our wines.
