Ščurek

It is difficult to determine the age from which the Ščurkas have been engaged in viticulture, but it remains recorded that Stojan’s nono Franc cultivated 1 hectare of vine and produced 50 hectolitres of wine. Today, with the help of his five sons, Stojan cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards, and the harvest is suitable for this. Most of the properties are in the Italian part of Brda, but the best locations are Grotišče, Dugo, Mahober, Jazbine, Jordano, Gredič and Kozlink.
Cockroaches offer the market up to 80,000 bottles of premium wine per year. They remain faithful to fresh, but full-bodied wines, so they delay the first flow long into the spring. These wines take a long time to mature in the glass, so they are hard to stop. Along with the latest technology, they also discover the secrets of oak barrels, and above all, they do not forget about the indigenous varieties. They are particularly proud of the genres: red and white Stara Brajda, UP and Kontra.
